He is continuously driven to sharpen his skills through rigorous study and practice of the latest science and techniques in his field. Ryan invests in his personal development by seeking out the best and brightest instructors and innovators. He currently operates in private practice within the Integrated Sports Therapies family, and serves as Director of Education for Integrated Sports Therapies Institute. Key to Ryan’s strengths as a therapist and educator is his relentless love of learning, intensely focusing on topics so diverse and interesting, it’s hard to keep up! His wide-ranging interests include 15 years of study and instruction in Brazilian Jiujitsu, 15 years of Judo, significant training in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts. Ryan is widely read and well educated on a vastly interesting range of topics. He thrives on exchanging ideas with colleagues and friends. Ryan also finds tremendous gratification in sharing and teaching what he has learned. He is most in his element when teaching martial arts, teaching therapeutic techniques to clinicians, and helping people to learn how to maintain and improve their own bodies. He works with athletes from youth sports to Olympic and Professional levels, as well as anyone that just wants to feel better every day. Ryan was born in Austin and lived all over the state before finally settling in North Texas, which he has called home for the last ten years. He is happily settled here in the Dallas area with his fiancé, one pup, and a cat of unknown age and unending grumpiness. His professional certifications include: Massage Therapy -Orthopedic Massage (800+ hours of teaching assisting all over USA). Corrective therapy focused on restoring posture and position of the body to alleviate pain and improve athletic performance -Neuromuscular Reprogramming (200+ training and assisting hours in USA and Mexico). Use of muscle testing to discover and correct the compensations between overworking muscles and underperforming muscles. Great for making movements more efficient and comfortable around the office or out on the field and in the gym -Rock Tape Basic and Advanced. Muscle Taping to improve pain sensation, decrease swelling, assist range of motion Personal Training -As a Corrective Exercise Specialist, he uses bands, stretches, foam rollers, and myofascial release balls to change and improve compensations before and during exercise. -As a Performance Enhancement Specialist, he works on programming and using exercises for improving cardiovascular health for a variety of sports. -As a Behavior Change Specialist, he uses many different behavior techniques to make more successful habits stick to reach your goals consistently. -As a Precision Nutrition Coach, he uses habit based coaching to make small, lifelong changes to eating and lifestyle habits to create dozens or hundreds of minor changes to make an entire new picture of yourself -As a Certified Conditioning Coach, he uses a myriad of methods to create total conditioning for all the demands of sport at every speed of action and duration of event. |
